Hole # 1

Great starting hole that has a slight dogleg right. Aim down the left half to avoid all the trouble right. Approach should favor a left miss for a less difficult up and down. Right and long make for a bad start. Tip: Hitting a low approach at the left half of the green allows for the ball to both roll on the surface if a little short as well as move the ball toward the pin since there is a slope from left to right.

Hole # 2

Signature hole on the North nicknamed "The Monster". Lengthy par 5 that requires three great shots to hit the green in regulation. A lake looms off the tee and remains in sight all the way running down the right side and goes beyond the front of the green. After the tee shot the layup is crucial to give you the opportunity to clear "The Monster". Tip: I have seen so many players try the impossible either by being so far from the green or in the tough rough trying to clear the lake to make this huge green in regulation. If in doubt, take an extra shot to lay up close enough to the lake to give you a realistic chance to hit the green.

Hole # 3

Uphill par 3 that we rarely see anyone go past the pin. Two tiered green that you definitely want to be on the right level. Tip: Very important to stay below the pin, especially if the hole location is on the upper tier. This green is notorious for three putts.

Hole # 4

The beginning of our own "Amen Corner"! This narrow par 4 is probably one of the hardest tee shots on both North and South. A good shot to a small target elevated green for your approach will make you appreciate walking off the putting surface with a par! Tip: Use a fairway wood off the tee. You don't need a long tee shot and hitting from the fairway will pay off!

Hole # 5

The second good driving hole that widens up the farther the tee shot. The green has two tiers so make sure your approach is either below the hole or on the right level. Stay away from the hole location on the far right. Getting up and down will be difficult. Tip: Aim down the left side off the tee. The ball will tend to roll out to the right due to the gentle slope.

Hole # 6

This short par 3 has an elevated tee shot to a small well protected green. The large bunker in front is a popular spot and a miss right or left is a difficult up and down. Tip: Divide the green in half and aim for the left half. If you are short there are pretty favorable kicks that have resulted in some pretty memorable aces!

Hole # 7

The sharp dogleg right puts importance on a good tee shot. The fairway is pretty wide and runs to the right so aim down the left half. Your next shot over the water hazard is not long but the elongated green can make for some monster putts so club selection is primo. Tip: Once again, a hole that you can put the driver away and hit a fairway wood or hybrid. When you walk off the green you can say "Amen".

Hole # 8

Here is where you can start scoring. This short par 5 that doglegs right is reachable but is well bunkered. Don't feel like you always have to reach this green in two. Lay up close for an easy pitch to hit it close. Tip: It is tempting to try to cut off a lot of yardage off the tee but risky. It is still very reachable as long as you hit the fairway.

Hole # 9

Downhill par 4 with a small pond in front of the green. Here you can put the driver away again and just hit the fairway for a short approach to a big green. Tip: Remember the elevation may tempt you to underclub. This green is huge and your miss will still allow for a birdie putt.

Hole # 10

The back 9 begins with an intimidating tee shot with water left and uphill boundary right which makes the hole look narrow. The green has water front and left so make sure that if the pin is on the left you go for the center of the putting surface. Tip: Once again, put the driver away and play the right half of the fairway. If you hit on the slope the ball has a good chance to kick back to the fairway.

Hole # 11

This short par 3 looks easy from the tee with trees on the left and boundary on the right. The green is small and narrow so pay attention to the yardage disks on the tee as the visual will make you think it is shorter than it appears. Tip: If there is a miss make sure that it is right. The slope can be forgiving when conditions are dry.

Hole # 12

Here is a chance to get one back on this short par 5. One of the easiest holes on the back nine if you hit a good drive and hit your next shot over the hill on the approach. Three bunkers protect the green so if you are short you will have a pretty easy pitch. Tip: On your second shot stay down the right side. Most shots will run with the slope and a good second shot will create some eagle opportunities.

Hole # 13

Another short par 3 where the green is deeper than you think. Make sure that you pay attention to the different yardages. The wind can start coming into play now which can also make a difference. Tip: This green can get fast and putts above the hole can really roll out so try to keep below the hole.

Hole # 14

This par 5 is a good lengthy test that requires a good tee shot to get started. As the hole progresses it doglegs to the right down a hill where the third shot is hit to an elevated two tier green over the water. Tip: Your second shot to lay up is hit from an elevated fairway. Make sure that you do not over club as it will play a little shorter and then the water hazard comes in play.

Hole # 15

Great par 4 test that doglegs to the left where you need a well placed tee shot. The fairway landing area is wide and there is a lot of room on the right if you miss. The approach is to an elevated green so add one club. Tip: Pay attention to hole location once again because this green is long and there may be a long putt surprise when you get up to the green.

This par 3 will play much longer than you think. Green is elevated with two tiers. Not much protection from the wind so make sure you use plenty of club if the wind is in your face. Tip: The hole location can be deceptive so look for either the tall pin, which means it is in the back or short pin letting you know it is on the lower tier.

Hole # 17

Our back 9 tough driving hole on this par 4 that narrows up before the hill can take some big numbers. Once again the green on the approach is elevated and the big mistake to this severe two tiered green is to not use enough club. Tip: Stay below the hole on your approach. If you hit a putt from the top tier and the pin is low your second putt will not be a short one.

Hole # 18

Great finish to the round on this short par 4 that you do not need a driver for. After a well placed tee shot you have an easy pitch down the hill to a green that slopes to the right. Tip: Make sure that you aim for the bunker with a fairway wood or hybrid and try not to cut the corner. There are a lot of trips back to the tee to reload when you think that you have hit a perfect shot.
